Accordingly to the establishment of the 4X high speed media at the DVD Forum, Pioneer had ceased the activity to evaluate 2X writability for the 1X speed DVD-R media. 2X writability evaluation for the new 4X speed media has started instead.
Ritek's G04 media is recommended for Pioneer's high speed recorder
