老遊戲用ogl,新遊戲用dx
dx一直到7才何當時的ogl有的拼. 7之前的d3d跟垃圾沒有太大的差別  |

miniGL是3Dfx爲了不支援完整OPENGL所創的格式.
簡單的說就是為了配合當初的QUAKE2所推出的

我不是已經說了 HL2 沒得選....
所以 HL2 支援啥根本不用管。 真的想知道的話， Source engine 是支援 DX9 的。

這也是為什麼id software到現在都一直堅持用opengl來設計遊戲，
連音效都只選用openal，不選擇微軟dx裡頭的ds3d規範， 這樣他們的遊戲還能在linux底下執行。

Vista 要用軟體模擬的方式整 OPEN GL...
在 Vista 裏，OPEN GL 是架構在 D3D 之下的... 也就是說，Vista 裏的 OPEN GL 是透過 D3D 去跑的， 這種行為明顯是要以當年與 IE 相同的手段除掉 OPEN GL 這個競爭者， 所以造成 3D 繪圖業界非常大的反彈， Well，雖然目前真正用 OPEN GL 設計 game 的只剩下id。 提一下，在 John Carmack 向比爾提出抗議沒多久之後， John 就在某篇訪談中提到他已開始使用 XBOX 360 的開發平台作業... 雖然 Vista 要用以前的招式除掉 OPEN GL， 但是目前看來頂多對遊戲有影響就是， 對專業繪圖軟體的影響應當不大。
