請教一句英文 : Many thanks
最近常在mail 上看到有同事這樣寫: Many thanks.
我記得應該是 Thanks very much. Thanks a lot. 最近常出現Many thanks. 請問各位英文高手有這種使用嗎? |

Many thanks 在文法上是不對
但是這就像台灣很多流行語 什麼走透透之類的 大家都在用 也就知道是什麼意思 但是若用正式信件中就不太適合

雖然不是很正式的用法,但many thanks其實沒錯啊...
http://webster.commnet.edu/grammar/...mmarlogs430.htm "Although you will hear "much thanks" in casual speech, the noun "thanks" is always plural and "many thanks" is appropriate. We can't have a "thank"; that would be too much like one hand clapping. Although it's always plural, meaning "grateful thoughts or sentiments," it's still treated as something countable, so we use "many thanks." Main Entry: thanks Pronunciation: 'tha[ng](k)s Function: noun plural Etymology: plural of Middle English thank, from Old English thanc thought, gratitude; akin to Old High German dank gratitude, Latin tongEre to know 1 : kindly or grateful thoughts : GRATITUDE 2 : an expression of gratitude <return thanks before the meal> -- often used in an utterance containing no verb and serving as a courteous and somewhat informal expression of gratitude <many thanks> - no thanks to : not as a result of any benefit conferred by <he feels better now, no thanks to you> - thanks to : with the help of : owing to <arrived early, thanks to good weather> 此文章於 2005-04-12 12:00 PM 被 doberman 編輯. |
