Nope. That's because a big portion of CA used to be part of Mexico (Mexico raged a war againts States in 1836, and lost the war). That's why many of its cities are named using Spanish. The same applies to Texas as well. As matter of fact, the name of Texas comes from "Tejas" in Spanish which means "Roof" 'cause Texas used to be the roof of Mexico so to speak.
