◆百戰天龍影集◆
◆ 電視影集"馬蓋先"最初是在1985年9月在ABC-TV上播出的,一直到1991-1992中的一季才結束,約有139集.劇中假設的場景是在加州,然而實際則是在加拿大的British Columbia拍攝.雖然影集停播,但後來仍有兩部電影,分別是 The Lost City of Atlantic ,和 Trail to Doomsday ,這兩部在台灣電視上不久前才播過.影集及電影大致上的情節在於馬蓋先的冒險故事,危機化解.他從來不帶武器,除了那一把瑞士小刀,以及他過人的智慧,和身邊任何不起眼的物品.馬蓋先有著廣泛的物理及化學知識,還有一切能實行他"馬蓋先主義(MacGyverism)"的東西.


◆馬蓋先◆
全名是 Angus MacGyver (由 Richard Dean Anderson 飾),不過他喜歡人家只叫他MacGyver,於1950年3月23日出生在美國明尼蘇達州的Mission City,從Western Tech畢業之後就搬到加州.他在遇到在DXS(Department of External Services)工作的老皮(Pete Thornton)之前常做一些奇怪的工作. 有次馬蓋先只用紙夾與鞋帶從兩個配有火箭筒的人逃走,老皮被他的足智多謀所深深印象.從此馬蓋先就到DXS為老皮工作.幾年後,他們深刻的友誼促使馬蓋先移到鳳凰城基金會(Phoenix Foundation)工作,當老皮被派命為主管時.
MacGyver朋友喜歡叫他Mac,是個相當有急智的人.他常只用普通日常生活的物品來幫助他自己和他的夥伴脫離麻煩.在他身上所能找到的工具莫過於一把瑞士的萬能小刀了.由於在小孩時代的一次槍走火的事故,從此不喜歡帶任何的槍,盡量避免任何的暴力.他對他的朋友相當的真誠.他的敵人會發現他是一個難以應付,足智多謀的人.
馬蓋先有個最不尋常的特徵就是害怕過於親密的感情.這個特徵使他失去相當多的友誼.這都由於以前的經驗所造成的.他的父親及祖母在他12歲的時候因為一次意外車禍而去逝.而他母親在他一次海外的出差時遭人攻擊死去,死因複雜.因此他擔心再有任何人因他而死.盡管這點憂慮,他仍然是一個標準的樂天派.
