請問什麼是CELL架構啊?跟現在NV4X系列的架構不同嗎?
還有XDR DRAM 是RAMBUS的新技術,那會普及嗎? 未來VGA不是有一種TURBO CACHE的技術, 那MEMORY是不是就不再佔重要的地位了? 謝謝。 ![]() |

以Rambus現在的情況, 有人認為會普遍嗎?

其實最大的贏家的應該是IBM.......
三大主機(M$,SCE,老任)的下一代主機CPU全部是IBM做的.... 至於NV怕不怕被M$「修理」? 我想不會比現在的狀況還糟的......當初D3D規格被 NV主導時, ATi還是不撐過來了(當然, 會爬上來的主要原因是M$把D3D規格主導 權給ATi).....

SONY一開始不是說PS3用CELL晶片做所有處理工作?影像音效網路等..
怎麼現在突然改了..2005年底到底會不會推出PS3啊.

就算是PCI-E 的 turbo cache, 也比不上on board 記憶體的幾十GB的頻寬 頂多能緩衝,減少向硬碟讀取的次數 未來,平行傳輸介面遲早會遇到瓶頸... 就像ATA到SATA一樣

我比較好奇老任能拿到什麼剩菜.... CPU--CELL(PPC970?)被PS3拿去了,Gekko系(PPC440)被XBox2拿去了。<--這個最慘 GPU--R5x0被XBOX2拿去了,NV5x(?)被PS3拿去了。 我想知道老任想拿什麼東西來出哩.... ---- NVIDIA大概篤定明年會有XDR的產品了吧.... PS3的XDR和PS2的D-RDRAM不一樣,是外注生產,所以大概會有不少機會降價。 |

CELL架構指的是IBM發展的一個平行架構,特色是CPU裡面有大量的Steam Processor,
單一個PE (Processor Element) 有8個APU,每個APU有4個SIMD,然後劇本來的計畫, 90nm的版本是一個CPU一個PE,65nm的版本則是一個CPU有4個PE。 所以CELL本來是CPU的架構,為什麼會和GPU扯上關係呢? 那是因為在CELL的專利文件裡面,包含了一個 "8個APU拔掉4個,改放 Pixel Pipeline" 的GPU。 以目前的推測來說,應該是由APU來充當Shader Pool, 然後剩下的元件和通常的GPU沒兩樣。 主要的原因是因為現在NVIDIA的Shader本來就是SIMD架構,架構上其實也差不多了; 只是PE上頭的那個Power Core不知道要拿來幹嘛,Integer Instruction? 總之明年E3等著看了。到時候顯然會有90nm版的試作機展示。 |
