I was again running expx cheap dvd with 5.1 anolog output...both ac-3 & dts works...it means this machine could decode both dd & dts, kind of suprise as no dd or dts logo on the player panels...it is a bonus

but when it plays pal dvd's title, the black bars will flash, when it comes to the movie itself, the flashing is gone, don't know why; but same dvd is played well in sampo's f46 (my tv doesn't support pal)

i have open the player, it is the ess 699x chip for mpeg2, cirrus d/a chip for audio; but don't know what is the dd or dts decoder, some chips are covered by QC stickers

however, i have found its toshlink output is quite strange; when i was recording md from this player playing cd via toshlink, no chapter has been detected, my md recorded the whole cd into one chaper like recording the anolog line-in source; but the recording quality (music) is still superb

via conx, everything is fine, the cd playing also sounds good (decoded by amp's d/a)

the loader & pick-up system look very 'cheap' & 'simple', no suprise to me, but could not find what maker for it...i don't know much about loader & pick-up, but this is not a pc dvd-rom as no IDE port is found

like normal cheap dvd player, interior is a decoding PCB, power supply pcb, & the dvd-rom, that is all
