After reading the story of Helen Keller, I think she is the most successful deaf-mute in the world. Her story tells us three edifications. First, we must not blame heaven and other people, and do not give up easily. Review her life, she was a normal person when she was two years old. One day, an illness took away her sight and listen. That was not a tragic start, it was a defiant start. God gave mission for her to conquer the adverse circumstances, and then become a model to show other people how to strive for the best. Her teacher, Anne Sullivan Macy, who was a patient and warm woman taught her speak. She never gives up teaching Helen Keller, and Helen Keller never gives up studying. As time goes by, Helen Keller finally made it, and then become a highly educated and intelligent woman. Second, we must cherish everything we have. Helen Keller said “Darkness would make one more appreciative of sight, silent would teach one the joy of sound.” Those words tell us “We never know the worth of water till the well is dry.” We always have everything for granted, but we forget to cherish until losing them. Third, we have to cherish our precious time, especially our life time. Helen Keller said “three days to see.” Actually she didn’t have three days to see, it was just her imagination. It means life is so short and fragile, that is why we have to cherish our life time.
