Hi, WilsonH, Sorry for my late reply, I just notice your post now. (1) I did not try WindowXP so far because XP is less computational efficiet for floating calculations. (In my department, average CPU time for a single run is around or more than 24 hours.) (2) ASUS P3BF was a good mother board in age of BX440.In our Lab, when I was a PhD candidate then, most of our PCs were using this type of MBs. There was no singinificent problem in dual monitors application on P3BF. (3) I suppose your problem is due to ATi's driver. This problem is similar to that I can open two or more MS Word window, but only one window is available on Powerpoint. (4) 5-year ago, I recommended one to use AGP+PCI cards for dual monitors application, in which the vendors of VGA cards are different,e.g. S3+NV or SiS+NV,...etc. 3- or 4-year ago, I suggested one to use AGP+PCI, in which the VGA cards are made by the same vendor but using different chipset (ie. GF2+TNT),and DO NOT choose Ati's products. Now, I suggest you to buyoff a new single-card, which support dual monitors output. Please forget your old cards. |
