　　故事的浪漫起點在小語(周迅)經營的咖啡室，某天電影編劇阿秦(陳坤)闖進來，為慶祝自己的生日唱歌吃蛋糕。阿秦對小語自家製的抹茶蛋糕一吃鍾情，卻不敢就此肯定這是畢生至愛的滋味，況且二人身邊都已有結婚對象。時間流轉，一對情投意合的人，走近了，又遠離了，感情路上不斷追逐、尋覓，逃避、進退兩難……

　　Zhou Xun stars as a Beijing heiress of a swank teahouse, whose 21st century lifestyle has her gaining paramours from Hangzhou to the U.S. But after a fatal accident that spared only two, she begins to rethink her own course in life. Only one man gets close enough to her, and they hesitantly hover around their mutual feelings through chat rooms and SMS. The director even makes an appearance in crazy daydream sequences, in a break from the theme of cosmopolitan loneliness that turns both tragic and triumphant.
