MJPEG （Motion Joint Photographic Experts Group）壓縮/解壓縮器，
而市面上多數多功能顯示卡皆採用軟體 MPEG壓縮/解壓縮方式。

Matrox強調MJPEG的壓縮/解壓縮方式比MPEG2擁有更接近原始視訊的畫
面品質， MJPEG的格式如同一系列JPEG圖片組成的動畫，在執行壓縮時，
每個畫格（ Frame）皆經過壓縮，解壓縮後可保持每個畫格完整的畫面，
因而可執行非線性（non-linear）視訊編輯。
