聽說nv的尚方寶劍"ultra shadow"還沒出鞘說...
據說doom3中還尚未啟用6800 5900 5700系列的ultra shadow功能
我冽....等到nv新驅動開啟之後,不就如虎添翼了嗎?? 超期待的說.....希望我的5900xt跑起來能比9800xt更快 ![]() |

Beyond3D在DOOM3出版後有訪問John Carmark。
http://www.beyond3d.com/interviews/carmack04/ 其中有提到UltraShadowII部份: Q: What's the situation with regards to depth bounds test implementation in the game? Doesn't appear to have any effect on a NV35 or NV40 using the cvar. A: Nvidia claims some improvement, but it might require unreleased drivers. It's not a big deal one way or another. 其中﹐UltraShadowII的實際技巧為depth bounds test﹐也就是說﹐超過某距離的shader不去做計算﹐節省GPU畫圖的時間。John說﹐NV聲稱UltraShadow有一些加速功能﹐不過需要開發中 driver。間接的也默認ID software有在測試beta driver。他最後對此功能結論是無關痛癢。 UltraShadowII只是NV的一個行銷名詞/手段罷了。 |

你會發現有很多“尚方寶劍”“根本沒有出鞘”過… ![]() |

Yeah,knift大說的是,我看ATi 這次的"3Dc 曲面法線貼圖(Normal Map)壓縮技術",也有可能成為這種沒機會出鞘的尚方寶劍喔。 ![]()
