Can i upgrade my PC? ( Ram )
My PC is Pentium 1.4GHz already 2 year,
and now i want to upgrade Ram to 512Mb, the Motherboard is using Samsung Rambus PC800 256Mb (128+128) so now can i buy other type of Ram to upgrade my PC? |

To be honest with you, Rambus is no longer in the market anymore I don't believe there are any more new motherboards that support Rambus. (Anyone, correct me if I am wrong, thx) It would be best if you can try to sell it off and just buy a new one coz it will cost you a bit to get Rambus ram compare to the DDR which is the main stream ram for all computers. thx PS: For all motherboards, I do believe that you are able to upgrade to 512MB Rambus (256+256) but, its gonna cost you..... |

看起來是Socket 423的
Rambus很貴很難買到 2支256MB PC800合計大約3600元 |

Yes, i recall my memory the motherboard is Socket 423 (850),
so can i use other RAM to replace [ PC800 Rambus ], because can't find Rambus at market. |

You still haven't give us the maker of the motherboard and also the model for it. Its really really hard to tell you if you can use other size of RamBus on your motherboard. So, it would be great if we can have the brand name and also the model. What do you mean by if you can use other rams? You mean something like SDRAM or DDR rams?? I don't believe you can, I don't recall seening a motherboard that was RamBus which has other types of ram slots on it. So, you are stuck with Rambus if you are going to stay with this motherboard you have.. plz think about sale it off and just buy a new system. |

i850晶片組只支援PC600/700/800的RDRAM
無論哪家廠商做的850主機板都一樣 可以試著跟店家客訂商品,像順發之類較大規模的應該會幫你訂. |
