Director Shusuke Kaneko has formally commented on the new monster suit that is being created for the King of the Monsters in Toho's fast developing Godzilla - Mothra - King Ghidrah: Daikaiju Soukougeki.

On Kaneko's own official website http://www.shusuke-kaneko.com/,
the helmer addresses his vision of the suit, as follows:

"The creation of the kaiju suits is being handled by Fuyuki Shinada and his staff at Vi-shop Studios. The suit is now in the final stages of completion and will be ready for its camera test near the end of the month. While no images are yet available, the suit will NOT be that of the design seen in Godzilla 2000 or Godzilla X Megaguirus. Mr. Kaneko has opted for an update on the "classic" Godzilla of the 1960s. The design has undergone modifications since the concept maquette was displayed on the March 6 announcement day."

The site also notes that the director is "involved with every aspect of the motion picture's design: production drawings, storyboarding, scripting, casting, sfx design, scoring, budgeting, etc. The creation of a Godzilla film is Mr. Kaneko's oldest dream and he is expending every bit of energy he has to make this the ultimate film of both his career and of the 24 film strong Godzilla series."

As previously reported, the film to come seems to be set in a seemingly alternative timeline than the films before, in a Japan arrogant with power due to the protection given to it by three ancient monsters: Mothra, King Ghidorah and Baragon. What they seem to have forgotten is that they aren't quite as invincible as they think, especially after the appearance of Godzilla 50 years before. Now, by whatever means, Godzilla returns and a giant monster war begins.
