我也覺得很奇怪，dvd-it會在燒成dvd之後把mpeg2變大，變成實際上裝的mpeg2並沒有這麼多，實在很糟糕。

不過dvd-it有個其它的程式沒有的功能，這個功能算滿不錯的就是了。

似乎您是要在player上看DVD-Video, 那4.2GB-->5GB的問題應該不難. 在File...Project Setting...Video Setting或Build...Video Setting裡將bit rate調低. 一般DVD-Video 4.3GB容量扣掉Adminstration部份, 實際可錄只剩下大約3.6GB到3.8GB. 這是一個畫質與影片長度取捨的問題. 120分鐘的影片其bit rate只能最高調到4Mb: 3600MB / ((4Mb/8) * 60 seconds) = 120 minutes

DVDit的好在於build時會先將mpeg-2檔MUX. Audio部份無論選擇PCM或Dolby Digital, 對流量影響不大. 但是Video部分其 預設值為normal @ 5Mb. 所以您本來
4.2GB @ 4Mb被她這麼一re-encode就變成5GB @ 5Mb. 若您的影像來源為
MPEG-2 capture, 則擷取時最好設定為CBR @ 4Mb (120分鐘長度) or 6Mb (80
分鐘長度). 否則先用TMPGenc 或CCE壓. 無論何者, 最好餵CBR的影音分離檔給DVDit吃.

真是好建議，又多學了一項知識，有空來試試。

我是用tmpge壓成mpeg2,大約6.5M/s,一共90分鐘，4.3GB左右
用dvdit讀取后顯示5.2GB，無論怎麽改設置都沒用

Sorry for me to reply in English. So how about you just use DVDit to build directly:

(1) If DVDit's "Build" can accept your 5.2GB, then adjust bit rate lower
to be 5M/s in "Video Setting" since DVDit will again MUX/De-MUX your
mpeg2 file before actually build. Since I use MP5120A DVD+RW, usually
I use "Build Disc" directly. If you use DVD-R, it's better to "Build Volumn"
first, then use Nero to burn the disc. Two tips for your information:

(a) Only drag VIDEO_TS. I think it's a tiny bug within Nero which
always put AUDIO_TS before VIDEO_TS in DVD structure. Then my
Pioneer DV-533K suppose it's a DVD-Audio and then hangs over there.
Some guys in Doom9 forum overcome same problem by shifting to
RecordNow Max or Instant CD/DVD. But it seems now most burning
software's price is higher and higher, and I'm used to Nero. Therefore
I tried to only drag the VIDEO_TS, and it WORKS!!!

(b) Within DVD UDF/ISO, the ISO settings are Level 1, ISO 9660
Character Set, NO joilet, and NO any option in Relax ISO Restrictions;
and use Nero defaults in UDF settings: Physical Partion and ver 1.02.

(2) If DVDit's "Build" doesn't accept your 5.2GB file, I think you have to
re-encode it via TMPGenc with a lower bit rate, e.g. 5 or 5.5M/s. Don't forget "GOP closed" in "GOP Structure." But I'm curious what damn is your mpeg2 file let you to choose 6.5M/s bit rate. Most DVD movies use
4M/s. Even to some "fast-motion" movies, the bit rate is only up to 6M/s. Under kinda MPEG2 destructive compression, I don't think you can
have any gain in film quality with a higher bit rate if your source is DV, TV, or even DVD-Video.

OK, 把5.2GB檔拉到first play, 直接Build...Video Setting, 流量選Normal 5M/s.
然後Build...Build Volumn:

(1) DVDit接受並且做成一Volumn, 裡面有VIDEO_TS與AUDIO_TS子目錄. 用Nero燒DVD. 選DVD(UDF/ISO). 只拉VIDEO_TS. ISO設定用Level 1, ISO9660
Character Set, 不選Joilet, 不選Relax ISO Restrictions之任一項. 檢查UDF設定
是否為Nero預設值: Physical Partion & Ver. 1.02

(2) DVDit不接受, 則要用TMPGenc重壓, 選DVD(NTSC)模板. 在Setting...Video裡改流量為5 or 5.5M/s. 在Setting...GOP Structure裡勾選Closed GOP.
您的6.5M/s會不會太高?? 除非影像來源為BetaCam, 對DV, TV, or DVD-Movie而
言, 4M/s應已足夠. 電影動作片我頂多只6M/s. 流量太高對影片畫質並無助益, 徒然增加處理時間. 因您影片長度已瀕臨DVD長度, 以上皆假設用CBR壓.
