Hi Julia,

Thank you for your email forward to me by John. I have tested with a T758 V3
at our showroom with Macbook Air, PC, Bluray and Nintendo switch.

We have discussed in the showroom, and it is normal as the T758V3 decodes the
signal then after that the sound will be heard. The customer can always
restart the video to hear the first second of the sound. It also depends on
the signal produced by the PC whether it is consistent because not all
computers are the same, if the customer is experiencing a drop with 24bit
settings then he can step down to a lower setting which the PC can properly
produce to minimize the drops, stretching it to 24bit means the PC needs to
decode more to fill up the remaining bits even if it’s only Youtube which is
not even CD Quality, even playing High Resolution Music the computer needs to
give the correct signal (jitter). NAD T758V3 verifies the signal properly
after that it will play the sound. Also take note of the cables used and the
connection, good cables give good signal.

The delay experienced is called “latency.” Latency is basically the amount
of time it takes a digital (audio) signal to be processed. Latency can occur
with any digital audio device and is related to analog-digital/digital-analog
(AD/DA) conversion. Since the conversion takes time, the user experiences
latency. Of course, latency isn’t unique to digital audio devices – it
occurs naturally all the time.

Thank you.
