"白金版"後再來個"超越極限永恆典藏版"....
In honor of their 10th anniversary, New Line Home Video is taking their special edition DVD format a step further.
The company is launching a new DVD label called "infinifilm™". The new banner will not be replacing their current "Platinum Series" line, but rather it will be adding a higher tier of quality to their DVD releases (according to the the press release, the "three tiers of excellence" are now infinifilm™, Platinum Series, and standard releases).
The first disc to be released under this new line will be the Kevin Costner/Cuban Missile Crisis film 13 Days.
In addition to the usual special features that we've known from the studio (commentaries, documentaries, etc), these new DVDs will take the viewer one step further and provide further features about the subject matter. Much like the "Follow the White Rabbit" feature used on Warner's The Matrix, you will be able to watch the special features separately by accessing them directly from the main menu or by experience the film with the infinifilm™ option enabled (throughout the film, a pop-up prompt will appear that allow you to access extra content specifically relating to a scene in the movie, including behind-the-scenes footage, interviews, related stories, documentaries and much more).
For 13 Days there will be a 48 minute documentary that you will be able to watch alone or at specific times throughout the film.
13 Days' other features will include:
16X9 transfer, DD 5.1 and DTS Surround tracks, audio commentary from director Roger Donaldson, producer/actor Kevin Costner, writer David Self and exec producer Michael De Luca; archival commentary from historical figures including John F. Kennedy, Segei Krushchev, Ernest R. May, Phillip Zeilikow and Pierre Sallinger; a historical information subtitle trivia track; a multi-angle visual effects scene deconstruction; the 48 minute documentary; a 10-minute featurette; DVD-ROM script-to-screen; deleted scenes; trailers, production notes and cast/crew bios.
Along with a new package design for the new infinifilm™ line, menus for these titles will also become standardized and more helpful in guiding viewers along. Further information about the infinifilm™ brand can be found on the official site.
