Video Capture Update for DirectX 8.0

If you use a video capture device, you should install this update (formerly known as Digital Video Update for DirectX® 8.0) after installing the DirectX 8.0 or 8.0a runtime. Affected video capture devices include:
TV tuner and video capture cards/peripherals (AGP, PCI, USB, or IEEE 1394)
Digital video (DV) devices connected to OHCI-compliant IEEE 1394 ports, also called FireWire or i-link
The following products are known to benefit from the update:
>>>ATI All-In-Wonder, VIVO, or TV tuner cards using MMC 7.1 or higher
>>>All OHCI-compliant IEEE 1394 interfaces
>>>Adobe Premiere 6.0
>>>Ulead VideoStudio 5.0

Installation notes:
The update installs files from the DirectX 8.0a redistribution runtime (included with applications) that are not installed by the runtimes available on this site.
Users of Microsoft Windows® XP do not need to download the Video Capture Update. All required files are included in Windows XP.
The Video Capture Update for DirectX 8.0 installation process requires approximately 2.5 megabytes (MB) of free space on your hard drive. After installation, the DirectX download takes up approximately 1 MB of hard drive space.
After installation, the Video Capture Update for DirectX 8.0 runtime cannot be uninstalled. The installation process changes system components and makes registry changes within your operating system. Microsoft does not support uninstallation.
