TEAC Japan announces CD-W540E

TEAC Japan announced today a new CD-RW drive with the codename "CD-W540E". It supports 40x writing, 12x re-writing, 48x reading, 8MB buffer, BURN-Proof, Mt. Rainier support and 72ms access time(!).
Specifications:
- Writing: 4x, 8x, 16x, 20x (CLV), 20-24x, 20x-32x, 20x-40x (Z-CLV)(*Note: When CD-DA and VideoCD being selected, writing speed is limited to 16x)
- Re-writing: 4x, 10x, 12x (CLV)
- Reading: 48x (CAV) [CD-ROM (MODE1), CD-RW and CD-ROM XA MODE2 FORM1], 40x (CAV) [CD-ROM XA MODE2 FORM2 (Video CD), CD-DA]
- UDMA33 support
- 8MB Buffer
- Mt. Rainier format support
- BURN-Proof
- High-speed ROPC support
- Intelligent speed control function
- Fine focusing control function

這次的48x讀取與8MB緩衝區實在很吸引人ㄛ.......
