LK is a hybrid. But you can say he is pretty much a black (or African-American) because of his mother. You know what, his (ex)wife Lisa Bonet is also a hybrid (black dad and Jewish mom).
In his early career, people though he is not black enough.
Black people prefer soulful, funky kind of music, that's why there are very few of black musicians can be categorized as ROCK muscian.
