SCSI (Small Computer Systems Interface)
The Small Computer Systems Interface (SCSI) was developed to link in all of the peripherals used in personal computers. SCSI had a speed advantage, until USB and Firewire wer developed.
Apple Macintosh have recently abandoned SCSI in favour of EIDE (for hard drives) and USB and Firewire (for other peripherals). SCSI remains popular for servers.
