2021年6月11日，美國總統拜登在出席第47屆七大工業國組織會議前與輝瑞行政總裁博爾拉會晤，之後一同在記者會上宣布[138]，由美國政府以成本價向輝瑞製藥購買5億劑在美國生產的輝瑞疫苗，無償贈送予全球約100個中低收入國家，並強調美國捐助疫苗不會附帶任何條件、不會籍此施壓、不要求任何回報[138]。拜登又稱從8月起的今年內可送出2億劑疫苗，明年上半年則送出3億劑。輝瑞行政總裁博爾拉表示七大工業國集團為所有國家提供疫苗肩負著責任，美國響應這項使命，並感謝拜登與美國政府[139]。
