Warriors champ and Finals MVP Kevin Durant turned 29 years old on Friday, which also happened to be the same day Russell Westbrook signed his extension with the Thunder, and Durant celebrated with a cupcake shoe cake.
The cake includes his new Nike cupcake shoe along with red velvet cupcakes. KD's teammate Jordan Bell posted this photo on his Instagram Story, so I'm not sure who the cake was from (I'm guessing Nike).
Cupcakes are something that Thunder fans used to troll Durant when he played in Oklahoma City with the Warriors. It all started after a Sports Illustrated feature story by Lee Jenkins noted that his former OKC teammate Westbrook posted a photo of cupcakes the day Durant chose the Warriors as a way of calling him "soft" for leaving.
While baking cupcakes with Buzzfeed, Durant said it was fun to have fans Thunder trolling him with cupcakes. I'm sure it doesn't hurt that the Warriors won a title, he won Finals MVP and he's making money off cupcake shoes.
