AMD的Free Sync還有另一大特色極為惹人關注。相對於NVIDIA的G-Sync,Free Sync顯得更加靈活。雖說G-Sync支持30∼144Hz的刷新率,理論上並不排斥最高刷新率只有60Hz的顯示器。但實際產品卻並非如此,無論是二次開發的難度還是產品定位的角度,都讓當前出現的G-Sync顯示器選擇了144Hz的最高水平。而Free Sync在規格製定之時,就已經深度優化了刷新率的匹配問題。其支持包括36Hz∼240Hz、21Hz∼144Hz、17Hz∼120Hz及9Hz∼60Hz在內的多種頻段,無論廠商將其搭配在那種定位的顯示器上都不會有難度。只要有DisplayPort 1.2a接口,無論是入門的60Hz產品,還是最高端的144Hz型號,甚至是未來可能會大面積推廣的240Hz超高端產品,都來者不拒地支持Free Sync特效。

Adaptive-Sync is a required component of AMD’s FreeSync, which allows the monitor to vary its refresh rate based on input from the GPU. DisplayPort is a universal and open standard, supported by every modern graphics card and most modern monitors. However, it should be noted that while Adaptive-Sync is considered part of the official VESA specification for DisplayPort 1.2a and 1.3, it is important to remember that it is optional. This is important because it means that not all new displays utilizing DisplayPort 1.3 will necessarily support Adaptive-Sync.
