If I lock it to 60 it gives a smoother experience. If I let it run up to 120 the framerate will dip down and up by a large amount as more intense things happen, frame rate "wobble" is much more noticeable than a stable but lower framerate and 60fps isn't low enough to matter.

I have a 680 which runs adaptive fine, this only effects adaptive (half refresh rate) mode normal adaptive works fine.
