在目前4G千元機市場，雖然紅牛開了LTPS的720p面板第一砲，但多數仍在FWVGA或qHd，就算有二線品牌採用720p面板，也未必是LTPS type（Tienma已能生產300ppi的a-Si面板）， 預期今年4G千元機的上限最多是LTPS的720p等級，不會是1080p等級（400ppi等級仍需LTPS製程）。縱使是相同ppi的面板，LTPS的優點仍在高開口率、低背光需求所形成的輕薄、省電，成本較高。
...Displaysearch之前預測，2014年全球720p和1080p智機出貨量將達到5.7億支，而2K手機約4,100萬支（全球智機市場12億支）。2015年的4K手機則約為2300萬支。

Falling display prices are another reason that HD and FHD smartphone demand is growing this year. Prices of 5” HD a-Si TFT LCD have fallen by 16% since the end of last year, and 5” FHD LTPS LCD prices fell by 13%. Panel makers are competing to gain share in China’s subsidized mobile device business.
JDI and its subsidiary TDI are looking to expand their HD product mix and increase their overall market share in the HD panel market as HD panel shipments in 2014 are expected to reach 350 million units largely due to demand driven in China.
與LGD爭食大陸中高階手機HD面板大餅，JDI減產FHD產品，增產HD類別，同時擴產LTPS產能。
雖然JDI之前發布新聞稿否認日經新聞報導其將籌資千億日圓來新建第七座面板廠以滿足手機面板需求，然面對市場需求趨勢來調整產能是最本能的反應策略。

如同Sharp，JDI目前聚焦在利潤較高的品牌手機面板，在平板的著墨不多。
