This article is intended to update the 2009 discussion of adding AHCI support for AMD SB 600 chips based on a simpler method which works for Windows 7 based installations. ASUS does not provide any drivers for Windows 7 and until recently claimed the board did not support Windows 7. Most articles on how to install AHCI concern adding numerous registry entries where adapting the instructions for this board are extremely technical. However, this method works for Windows 7 64bit with the above board and chipset.
