美國廠商Millenniata宣佈完成了其創新性的25GB M-DISC藍光光碟研發，在今年8月將進行量產，該產品最大的特點是壽命可長達超過1000年。 　　25GB M-DISC藍光光碟能提供約5倍於標準4.7GB M-DISC DVD的儲存容量，適用於任何藍光內接裝置。Millenniata以ISO/IEC 10995標準對M-DISC產品進行了大量的測試，測試的結果很驚人，M-DISC藍光光碟的壽命能超過1000年，平均達到1332年的水準，而相比之下一般的DVD理論壽命只能達到30年到100年左右。
