That sounds like mortgage loan, and with Vancouver's housing price you probably paid off at least 1/2. Monthly mortgage payment + day care + rest of regular expenses its probably over 5k easily .....

not quite right, but it's close....... you have to counting with the income,
the double minimum wage income still need strategy for surviving.
the hole already there, not expect fill it soon, but the life is just make it
as small as possible. the life always hard, isn't it?
