一名在法國東部「Luxeuil-les-Bains Airfield」空軍基地接受幻象2000(Mirage 2000)戰鬥機飛行訓練的的台灣空軍飛行員，
當地時間今天(3日)上午傳出墜機意外，根據國外媒體表示，目擊者看到整架幻象2000「變成一個火球」，墜落在樹林中，
飛行員當場死亡。

目擊者表示，飛機失控時原本在整片民宅上空，這名飛行員「已經盡力將飛機駛離民宅上空」，墜毀在約500公尺以外的樹林。
法國軍方已經封鎖現場，並針對失事原因進行調查。

Taiwanese pilot in French Mirage crash

A Taiwanese pilot has died in the crash of a French air force fighter plane. The Mirage 2000-5 went down in
a ball of fire, according to eyewitnesses.

The pilot, who was training with the French air force at the Luxeuil-les-Bains airfield in the east of the country,
seems to have done everything possible to avoid crashing into a residential area, according to the mayor of
nearby Froideconche, Henri Passard.

Local people say they saw a “ball of fire” crash into a wooded area about 500 metres from a group of houses on
Wednesday morning.

Access to the area was closed off while the authorities established whether their were armaments on board.

An inquiry has been opened to find out the reasons for the accident.
