Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro, Jr. said Friday that Cliff Lee "isn't going anywhere."

The Dodgers were reportedly awarded claiming rights on Lee and now have three days to work out a trade with the Phillies. Amaro declined to confirm or deny the validity of the story, but he called it "irrelevant," because he has no intention of trading the southpaw. It's common practice for players to be placed on waivers in August, so just because he was claimed doesn't mean a deal will happen. The Phillies still have the ability to pull Lee off waivers, which means he would remain with the club for the rest of the season.
