CTF NVCACHE的其他副作用...
Power Implications
In a CTF NVCACHE implementation the NVCACHE subsystem only has to be powered for a short amount of time, typically 30 seconds or less, compared to the 72 hours required by a battery backed cache implementation. The energy density required for a CTF NVCACHE implementation is much smaller than a traditional battery-backed cache solution allowing for a much smaller battery. In the Dell PowerEdge™ RAID Controller (PERC) series of RAID controllers the battery for the CTF implementation was reduced from an 1800mAH (approximately) battery to a 900mAH battery. The battery could have been reduced to approximately 500mAH, but by leaving the battery at 900mAH the warranty period for the battery could be increased.

Smaller batteries have shorter charge times allowing the RAID controller to switch back into a write-back cache mode in a shorter amount of time after a battery has been discharged. Smaller batteries also have shorter learn cycles allowing longer periods between maintenance cycles. The CTF implementation also has the advantage of increasing the data retention time from 72 hours to several months or more. This increased data retention time is ideal for servers in remote or isolated locations.
