The – well, I think it`s important – if you read the transcript of the White House press briefing today, I thought Jeff Bader went through this in some detail and laid out the U.S. position. We do believe that because the Senkaku Islands are under Japanese jurisdiction, that it is covered by the U.S.-Japan security treaty.
That said, we also stress that we don』t take a position on the sovereignty of the Senkaku Islands, but recognize current Japanese jurisdiction stemming back to the reversion of Okinawa to Japan. But Jeff made a good point, I think, that – it』s worth repeating, that that said, we do not envision that this current tension will rise to that level in any foreseeable scenario that we would envision.

簡單來說這是美國對於其盟友涉及主權爭議的一貫立場
就是我們在對於主權爭議上絕不表態支持任何一方 但是在某些方面上會支持對我們國家利益有益的一方
換做這次的釣魚台事件簡單來說就是
"阿本現在拿在手上的東西原本是誰的我不想知道也不想管 但是阿中你敢用蠻力搶奪過去 你就給林北試試看"
另外基本上從過去到現在的美****關係也是這樣
