標題用”解決”兩字可能較不恰當,
有人用此hotfix後,問題依舊,
也有人似乎解決了一些問題,
官方用alleviates我就覺得不對頭了,
一般是用solve,顯示amd對此driver沒有信心,
若以bios upgrade為備案,問題會較為複雜,
有人說就算不掛任何驅動程式,還是會出現條紋,
那就可能是硬體或bios問題了,
排除硬體問題,bios原始設定讓部分58處於不穩定狀態,
節錄討論區,sapphire似乎也釋出一些beta版本bios
For me this is a NOT a software issue. It exists even when no ATI drivers are installed on different OS (even non-Windows).
So there are only two other options left
1. Hardware defect in some cards
2. Firmware defect into the ATI BIOS rendering some cards defective (due to different components used by card makers - Sapphire, HIS, XFX...)
If it is a hardware defect it is obvious that the only way to be fixed is by RMA. The fact that Sapphire started to release a lot of beta BIOS (from support tickets) make me think that we should not expect a software fix here. All the ATI do now is buying some more time to fix the problem with an official BIOS (distributed by different manufactures). If you are not familiar with the BIOS release procedure here it is:
ATI release a new BIOS and give it to the manufactures. They "modify" it for the different cards they make (memory timings in general) and then the BIOS is "signed" by ATI (after testing it). Then this signed BIOS is released by manufactures.
The issues will be fixed (if it is possible) before the release of Fermi (or ATI goes to hell) with a firmware update (maybe the update will not be on official manufactures site but with support ticket) I expect that all cards manufactured after the middle of February will contain a new BIOS (BIOS version 19 or 20). The reason for all this is that all HD 5xxx BIOS versions available from Sapphire from support are version 19 (just check the http://www1.sapphiretech.com/global/lib_files/116.zip - you can changed the 116.zip to 117.zip, 118.zip , 119.zip, 120.zip) and use the RBE 1.23 to load this BIOS. You will see that different models 5770, 5750, 5870, 5850... are all with BIOS v.19
All those BIOS-es are only for Sapphire cards. I do not recommend using it. Just point to them to explain why i consider this as firmware defect and that it will be fixed only by BIOS update.
