This new recording layer dye offers significant improvements in light fastness, moisture protection and compatibility while lowering the impact on the environment by introducing an organic compound to the DVD manufacturing process. 日本富士膠卷公司(FUJIFILM)繼2004年1月9日在CES大展就透露過相關信息之後,近日它帶來 了進一步消息,用於16 X DVD-R的新型染料已經開發成功。富士膠片希望新的光盤技術能使DVD-R光盤形成標準,使其在1X-16X的速度範圍內都可以使用,如今實現這一目標的基礎已經出現。
對於一張單層DVD-R來說,可以記錄兩個小時的視頻節目,如果用1X的速度刻錄將耗時60分鐘,4X時為15分鐘,而使用16 X,將只用5分鐘。
這次的開發成果包含兩個部分——新型的光盤結構與獨特的染料,尤其是後者,它借助富士膠片在化工研究方面的經驗,採用先進的有機合成技術而製成。這一技術將使DVD-R光盤具備十分寬廣的刻錄速度範圍,並且具有很好的兼容性。這樣,從未來的16X到目前仍存在於市場的1X 刻錄機型都可以使用採用這種技術製作的DVD-R,使其在市場上具有很高的適用性。
據分析,16X DVD-R將在今年出現,而且16X的刻錄機也將在今年上市,富士膠片將努力盡快地將採用這一技術的1X-16X DVD-R產品標準化,進而迅速將其商品化。

1、新技術在1X-16X的速度範圍內都具有非常好的信號回放質量,並且能有效降低信號的誤差(俗稱Jitter),從而可以使減少激光強度在1X-16X的速度範圍內的變換次數。
2、改良了操作的穩定性與兼容性,DVD-R所使用的LPP(岸台預製凹坑)地址信號將引導激光在鄰近的溝槽內刻錄數據,而其所記錄的信息還可以用於控制馬達轉速的作用,因此LPP對DVD-R非常重要。 新技術使LPP變得更為堅固,即使在高功率的16X刻錄時也不會損壞,其結果就是帶來更高的可靠性與兼容性。
3、即使在高溫與高濕的環境下,仍然具有出眾的存儲性能,可在室溫環境下保證數據在100年內不會丟失。
