由此看來，似乎沒有必要為了那個達不到的效能去硬上SATA 2，而且價格也超出一倍多，有點划不來，那我還是維持原來的決議好了。

Problem finding disk drives with Sil3124 (New)

My SATA PCI controller is built with the Silicon Image 3124 chipset. I've read on these boards
that a lot of people have problems with other Sil chipsets, but I can't find a single thread
about this version.
This is my problem:
Both the RAID controller itself and the BTX boot loader detect all drives.
The boot loader print out every disk like this:
BIOS drive C: is disk0
BIOS drive D: is disk1
BIOS drive E: is disk2
BIOS drive F: is disk3
But FreeNAS can only find disks that are connected directly to my motherboard (1 of them at the moment).
I've tried both IDE and RAID versions of the Sil3124 BIOS with the same result.
What could be wrong?
Do I have to install a driver manually?

稍後他補充使用的是FreeNAS: 0.686.1 (revision 2831)
看來除了預算以外又多了一項可以（暫時）不考慮SIL3124的理由
看來咱倆該為自己的選擇感到僥倖（幸好當時嫌貴沒買否則這篇可能就是我寫的
）
另外不知巧克力兄打算用哪張板子當平台？
要是2002年前的產品當心很可能碰上ACPI造成的問題......
