早期, 巡弋飛彈是併用慣導 + 地貌追延系統來定位這已經足夠提供<5M 的誤差值
後來加上 GPS 提供長途跨海能力(海上無法使用地貌追延), 也提高精確度
美軍不是一定要有 GPS, 而是打仗一定要先弄清楚身在何方, 早期有地圖, 雷達...etc
現在有 GPS + 電子地圖, 對士兵來說方便很多
