記得之前看ESPN轉播時有提到說世界大賽冠軍戒指不只有25人名單內的選手可以有，端看球隊怎麼發，所以2004年紅襪拿下世界冠軍時有發戒指給季中已經離隊的Nomar Garciaparra，以下是節錄自Wikipedia的描述..
Garciaparra missed three months of the 2004 season with an injured Achilles' tendon when a foul ball hit him in spring training. Many critics felt Garciaparra exaggerated the injury because he was bitter that the Red Sox tried to trade him and then offered $12 million per year instead of $15 million. This was widely seen as the final nail in Garciaparra's coffin in Boston.
Despite being traded mid-season, Garciaparra received a World Series Championship ring as a member of the 2004 Boston Red Sox.
