b/c that DVD video clip file is very small, only about 100MB. I think it's kind of wasting to save it to DVD disc. CD disc should be a cheaper choice.
however, not sure if save that DVD file to CD disc, can it still playback ok? machine treats it as CD or DVD? can VCD player play it or must use DVD player to watch?
I plan to use Nero to burn such file to disc after know which disc to use.

I don't think you can play it on VCD player, since DVD's file format is MPEG2, while VCD's is MPEG1.
A file format known as MiniDVD is used for CD-R, typical is the same as DVD's layout. Maybe you can try it, but can only be played in some DVD player as I know, ... but not sure, just in my opinion.
