問題內容如下
I bought X-FI XtremeMusic, but got confusion about DTS decoding function.
Can X-FI XtremeMusic decode the DTS signal by hardware decoder or not? Or it's only can decode fully by software?
In the production documentation, it seems it is clear that X-FI can decode DTS Signal by X-Fi I/O Drive or X-Fi I/O Console. Does it mean the hardware decoder has been provided and installed in X-Fi I/O Drive or X-Fi I/O Console for decoding function?
Additionally, Creative also mentioned the method used to decode with Sound Blaster X-Fi from a software DVD player in production documentation.
In the explaination, Creative said:
To enable this function
1.In Audio Console, select the Use Built-in Decoder option (or in Entertainment Mode or Audio Creation Mode, select the Off (Built-in Decoder) option). For more information, refer to their online Help.
In your software DVD player, enable SPDIF or digital passthrough to stream raw compressed Dolby Digital/DTS data directly to your Sound Blaster X-Fi audio card's built-in decoder.
2.To enable SPDIF or digital passthrough, select the Digital (SPDIF) out to External Processor (or equivalent) option in your software DVD player. For more information, refer to your software DVD player's documentation.
I think the sentence "Sound Blaster X-Fi audio card's built-in decoder" written in the second point is a little unclear for me. Could you tell me if the decoder built in Sound Blaster X-Fi audio card as mentioned is a hardware decoder or not?
Thanks for your assistance very much
