每半年要入境美國報到一次, 不然可使用白皮書, 就不用每半年報到一次.
綠卡需要在五年內住滿三年以上才可在拿到綠卡的第四年半提出申請成為美國公民.
在第五年時通過面試和宣示拿到美國護照.
基本上有綠卡跟美國公民的差別就是能不能投票而已, 其他應盡的義務和享有的權利是一模一樣的.
其實每半年入境一次在入海關時就很容易被刁難了, 因為當初在AIT宣示要效宗美國拿綠卡時就跟移民官講最晚不會超過半年內就會移民.
最近議院也打算修法, 把這些擁有綠卡的人定個時限.
