應該是說在台灣大部份人用的M$ Win不支援由boot from USB storage,以鵝所知是kernel對storage存取方式的問題---USB storage(i.e. SCSI over USB)實際上是把SCSI packet放到USB上跑,問題是boot時kernel並無從得知這個模擬出來的SCSI HD須要先讓USB subsystem跑起來(i.e. USB host driver/USB storage...BTW,linux上可以藉由控制ehci-hcd/usb-storage/SCSI subsystem的載入順序把USB HD當成SCSI HD開機,鵝現在就是這麼玩的),除非能修改kernel存取storage的部份,不然依M$網頁上的官方說法是"Current versions of Windows should not be installed to USB hard disk drives because Windows does not support USB hard disk drives as the primary boot device." ....
