E-ZPass offers many benefits. It saves users time, by not having to stop to pick up a ticket or to pay a toll manually. (Speed limit through an E-ZPass lane is 15mph). It also saves users money. The New Jersey Turnpike Authority offers automatic E-ZPass discounts (on the Turnpike) just for enrolling as well as a Post-Paid Commercial Program, which allots additional savings to frequent travelers of commercial businesses. E-ZPass also saves on fuel consumption and harmful emissions. Finally, E-ZPass Systems help reduce traffic backlogs at exit lanes.

E-ZPass is an electronic toll collection system that allows vehicles equipped with a compact E-ZPass tag mounted on the windshield the ability to drive through designated toll lanes without the need to stop and manually pay a toll. An E-ZPass tag is about the size of an audiocassette tape. It is a battery-powered device that can be Velcro mounted to the interior of your vehicle’s windshield (or sometimes to your front license tag depending on your vehicle). Every time you drive through an E-ZPass equipped exit lane, the toll will be automatically deducted from your pre-established account.
