以Anandtech原文來論的話，並不是說高階顯示卡的GPU做成socket式。
「They claim that NVIDIA is working on flip chip GPU sockets for motherboards.」

NV43 與 G73 的針腳相容，單純只是讓G73可以直接用6600/GT的PCB直接推出產品；
不過這個GPU socket看起來是在主機板上的。

其次是第二天關於ATI的部份，原文如下：
「However, your ATI video card will most likely come with a socket flip chip from ATI. Unlike the NVIDIA socket prototype we commented about yesterday, the R580 socket is geared specifically for a PCIe graphics adaptor, rather than a motherboard-housed GPU socket. 」

有點像是一個沒有輸出的顯示卡，直接插上主機板的PCIe插槽？

總之，還不清楚這兩家打算怎麼處理這個GPU socket on MotherBoard，不過我想完全不顧AIB反彈的點子，一定會招致嚴重的後果，不可不慎。
