In the State, the cheapest way to buy the stuff is 1. online ordering with couponds which can also find via internet. 2. outlet especially on special day like laborday sell or boxing day sell. If you go to the store along the streets, you might not find anying cheaper than stuff sold in Taiwan.

About Gucci:
I dont really know if the products of Gucci made in China or not since there is not a lot of gucci stores in USA. But I think almost all brands' products made in China.
I rather buying the stuff made in India or south of asia that doesnot means the quality of china's produt are poor, just personal predilection.
