Verbatim (也就是三菱MCC旗下的光儲存媒體品牌)
有一份白皮書資料，就說明它們的DVD空白片有"100年預期壽命"
但是這個100年的預期壽命是建立在滿足下列條件下:
- A writer with normal performance records data. (用正常速度燒錄)
- There is no corrosive gas in the air. (不接觸腐蝕性氣體)
- There are no scratches or finger prints on the media surface. (沒有刮傷及指紋)
- Temperature is controlled within 25 +/- 2 degrees. (溫度保持在25 +/- 2度C)
- Humidity is controlled within 55 +/- 5 RH%.(濕度保持在55 +/- 5 %)
- Media is stored in the jewel case.(用壓克力盒收藏)
- Media is not exposed to direct sunlight or any other source of UV light.(避免日光直曬及紫外光照射)
也就是說，如果你採用 Verbatim 使用AZO 配方及相關的材料所生產的DVD+R空白片，嚴格遵循上述原則，那這燒錄片保存超過100年，仍可正確讀取 !!
請注意，這還只是"有可能"可以讀取而已，決不是保證 !

這種是用"加速壽命" Arhenius 測試所計算出來的"預期壽命"
與實際應用的真正保存壽命有"很大很大很大"的落差 !
