In a surprise move, SanDisk announced a 40 GB Secure Digital memory card. According to the press release, it will feature a transfer rate of 480 Mbps, equivalent to USB 2.0. The best news -- it will cost only USD$499 (~HKD$3,891.88, USD$1 = HKD$7.799), a bargain considering how much other companies charge for miniscule 12 GB Compact Flash cards. Availability is reported to be in the third quarter of 2005.
This is awesome news. We'll now be able to have iPod-like storage on our Pocket PCs. Better still, we'll be able to store several DVDs worth of movies we can watch. Try that on your iPod!
