17inch is really big. unless you are not going to carry it around. i think 15inch or 12inch are better choices.

if you really want big screan, i suggest you get external monitor (23inch). in that setup, you can carry your notebook around when you need to and have much bigger screan when you are at home/work.

ram is quite important, don't get it from apple. get it from kingston.
