I don't have Nikon D-100. But, I recently bought a Fujifilm Finepix S2 pro, which is very similar to D-100. Brother RedFlower, I suggest you also get MB-100, Multifunction Battery Pack. Not only the camera looks more like pro camera, it also increases the functionality when you are shooting in a portrait format. It provides you a vertical release.

After I used S2 pro, I would say D-100 is a better choice. I don't like the "two kinds of batteries" in my camera. It is just so much trouble to use two types of batteries.
