寫給Maxtor的抱怨信...

今天,很不幸的,終於遇到生平第一次的硬碟出問題(不斷的ECC Recoverd...)
疑為壞軌...(RAID陣列之中的問題,資料是安然,但是系統lag的很厲害,已移用另一顆
hot spare進陣列中,做回復工作了)
當然這個網標品的唯一RMA方法是送母廠,但Maxtor不給Taiwan RMA的問題
還是存在的,抱著死馬當活馬醫的心情,寫信給Maxtor..
就算不給,也表達一下不給台灣RMA,及爛X達的售後服務的抱怨...
目前該顆硬碟重跑低階中,真的是死馬當活馬醫了

I have bought a harddrive from internet bid store, the driver's model is 7Y250P0 with S/N “Y64VL1TE”(warranty expired at 2005/12/28), and I use it with other seven Maxtor harddrives on the RAID systems for about half year.
Today, the RAID tools reported one of eight disks having problems, and the system almost hanged. I removed the failing harddrive and diagnosed it with the "powermax" utilities, it reported a code "deaa6571", suggested me to create RMA and send it back to the Maxtor.
I tried to create RMA, but, I can't find my region "Taiwan" in the choices of country, is this represented that I can't have my harddrive send back to Maxtor by creating RMA?
If the answer is "yes", why Maxtor doesn't allow the users in Taiwan to create RMA and have the failed disks send back to there? Or I have another ways to get help for this failed product?
I have confirmed that I can't have this RMAed at local distributor, the "Xander", they have noted they don't responsible for the products not distributed by them.
In Tawian, the Maxtor's products don't favored by most of end users, because Maxtor's RMA lacks "Taiwan" in the country lists, and "Xander" has many restrictions on failed product that required RMA several months ago, and both of these reasons that make the Maxtor’s products have the rank of favorite behind that of H. and S.
